Lavia (“we”, “us”, the “App”) is an AI-powered self-care and wellness companion. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Lavia is not a medical service and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
Your profile photo never leaves your device. If you choose one, it is stored locally on your phone and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Lavia does not ask for access to your photo library — you pick a single image through your device's own picker, and that is all the App ever sees.
Lavia does not collect your precise location, your contacts, your calendar, your microphone, or your camera.
To generate AI responses, the content you submit (for example, a chat message, a dream, or exercise answers) is sent — through our secure server — to third-party AI providers, currently Google (Gemini) and Groq, which process it transiently to return a response. We do not use your content to train these models, and we do not sell your data.
We rely on the following service providers (“processors”) to operate the App:
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used — for example, how many people finish setting up their account, whether notifications get opened, and which screens people spend time on. This tells us what to improve next.
We only record that something happened, never what it said. When you save a journal note we record that a note was saved — not a word of it. When you check in with your mood we record that you checked in — not how you felt. Your name, date of birth, gender, relationship status and occupation are never sent to analytics. The only characteristics attached are your app language, your platform, and whether you are on the free or Premium plan.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your answer to the consent form described below also applies here: declining turns off advertising-related measurement.
Lavia shows ads to people on the free plan. Ads are served by Google AdMob. They appear in two places only: at the bottom of the journal screen, and in the notifications screen. You may also choose to watch a short video to unlock one extra use of a daily-limited feature — that is always your choice and never starts on its own.
Ads never see what you write. Your journal, chats, dreams, exercise answers, mood entries and test results are never shared with AdMob or any advertiser, and are never used to target ads.
To serve ads, AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier and general information such as approximate location, device type and app version. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before any personalised advertising, using Google's consent form. On iOS we also ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline either one, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
You can change your choice at any time in your device settings, and Premium removes ads entirely. AdMob's own handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from inside the App (menu → Delete Account), or by email if you no longer have the App installed. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and all associated content — journal, conversations, dreams, exercises, mood history and test results — from our database.
Full instructions, including what is deleted and what may briefly remain, are on the account deletion page.
Access to your data is restricted so that only you can read or write your own information. AI provider keys are kept on our server and are never exposed in the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
You can also lock the App itself with a PIN, your fingerprint, or Face ID. The PIN never leaves your device and is stored only in your phone's secure keystore — we cannot read it or reset it. This feature is free for everyone.
Lavia is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Lavia offers supportive, self-help content and AI conversation. It is not a substitute for professional diagnosis, therapy, or treatment. If you are in crisis or in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number (e.g., 112) or a crisis hotline in your country.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or take a copy of your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the App, or contact us using the email below.
Taking your data with you. Open the menu and choose Download my data. The App builds a JSON file containing your profile, journal, conversations, dreams, mood entries and test results, and hands it to you through your device's own share sheet. The file is never uploaded to us or sent anywhere on your behalf — where it goes is entirely your choice. Because it contains everything you have written, store it somewhere safe.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
